Hello Lovelies! It’s been a while since I’ve checked in here but I know many of you have been keeping up with my micro-blogging on Instagram, and I’m ever so grateful for that. Although things seemed a bit quiet on the surface, the reality is, it’s been everything but quiet for me over here. One of the main things contributing to my hiatus from this space, was the time and effort that went into creating my first collection of home accessories. Yes, you read that right! The 18 Chelsea Mews home accessories collection is no longer just an idea… It’s real and tangible products which will be available to purchase online in September! As most of you are aware, this is a ‘one-woman show’, so unsurprisingly, I’m super excited and scared in equal measure. Read a bit about the brand here, and if you haven’t done so already, please subscribe to the mailing list for ‘news and views’ from the Mews.
In other news, I’ve been nominated for the Amara Interior Blog Awards in the Best Colour Inspiration Blog category, thanks to one of you, my lovely readers! Whoever you are, I thank you sincerely! This nomination was completely unexpected but oh so motivating. I’m very humbled to know that you’ve been so inspired by my posts to the point of nominating me for an award. It’s a much appreciated reminder that I have something of value to share, and you’ve now motivated me to get back to sharing it here more often. I’ll be back here to let you know when and how to vote.
In closing, I invite you to watch this incredibly inspiring Ted Talk by Ingrid Fetell Lee, on Where Joy Hides and How To Find It. I’m sharing this with you because Ingrid is saying exactly what I’ve always been trying to express when people ask me about my fascination and obsession with bright and cheerful colours and patterns. My short answer has always been that they bring me pure joy! Making my home as colourful as it is, has helped immensely with my healing, so I can definitely relate to what Ingrid is saying here. If you’ve ever met me, you’ll know that I often squeal and literally jump around with childlike excitement at even a brief sighting of a pop of colour at any given moment. I hope you’ll enjoy this Ted Talk as much as I did.
